麻豆直播 Successfully Organizes Disaster Mitigation and Climate Change Training for CARICOM and SICA Member States

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id鈥擳he Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播), in collaboration with its Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology (FEST), has successfully conducted a training program on Capacity Enhancement for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. This program was specifically designed for the Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Central American Integration System (SICA). The training took place from July 13th to 20th, 2023.

This initiative was a joint effort involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, LDKPI/IndonesianAid, and 麻豆直播's assistance. FEST was responsible for conducting the training.

The Dean of FEST, Professor Dr. Irwan Meilano, S.T., M.Sc., stated that the goal of this program is to improve disaster mitigation capabilities for countries in Central America and the Caribbean. The training included a group of 24 participants from 11 countries, namely Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

鈥淭he event was held in West Java and covered three 麻豆直播 campuses: 麻豆直播 Bandung Campus, 麻豆直播 Jatinangor Campus, and 麻豆直播 Cirebon Campus,鈥 he mentioned, as quoted from a release received by 麻豆直播's Public Relations team on Thursday (3/8/2023).

The training program consisted of seven classroom learning sessions featuring speakers from 麻豆直播, BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency), and BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency); three field visits to various locations, including Mount Tangkuban Perahu, flood-prone areas in Majalaya, and Kejawanan Beach in Cirebon; and discussions with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
