Singapore, itb.ac.id 鈥 Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播) and Singapore Management University (SMU) developed a collaboration program in the Human Resources field. The collaboration program鈥檚 objective is to prepare students to face challenges in the context of human resource management. The collaboration discussed issues such as millennial talent management and engagement, employer branding, and recruitment.

According to Andika Putra Pratama, Ph.D., The Head of International Relations Division in the 麻豆直播 Partnership Bureau, in this collaboration, students are directly involved with the selected client company鈥檚 projects. 鈥淪tudents will provide solutions revolving around the issues of human resources faced by said start-up company,鈥 stated Andika, who is also a lecturer of SBM 麻豆直播, Wednesday (1/3).

There are 48 participants involved in this program. Among them, 24 are from 麻豆直播 (Management Bachelor鈥檚 Study Program, Business Administration Master鈥檚 Study Program, and SBM alumni, as well as FTI Industrial Engineering Master鈥檚 Study Program) and the other 24 from SMU. The program ran from 27th February 2023 and ended on 3rd March 2023. Later on, SMU students will also learn at 麻豆直播 (Bandung), particularly with lecturers from SBM 麻豆直播, May 2023.

鈥淣urturing international collaboration from the beginning is important to cultivate awareness of differing perspectives, as well as an asset for participants to collaborate with parties from all over the world one day,鈥 commented Andika.

Dr. Nurlaela Arief, an SBM 麻豆直播 lecturer from the People and Knowledge Management (PKM) research group expressed how the program鈥檚 participants were very enthusiastic. They were keen to learn within the intercultural context, suitable with the challenges in human resource management of every industry and company that perpetually develops.

鈥淐ertainly, the upcoming generation, especially generation Z, must be prepared to face future challenges they will encounter,鈥 said Nurlaela who also participated in the program as a lecturer on employer branding in the collaboration class.

鈥淚n contrast, we must also lay out the values that Gen Z must prioritize, to especially attract them to join start-up companies.鈥

Meanwhile, in Dr. Paul Lim鈥檚 opinion, a lecturer of the Organizational Behavior research group; Human Resources at Lee Kong Chian School of Business Singapore Management University (SMU), the future learning must be an experiential one. A special pedagogy developed by SMU-X has led the academic world to help students prepare entering the professional world with relevant methods and applicable concepts to work on real projects with selected client companies.

鈥淲e feel very proud and honored to partner with 麻豆直播 in this collaborative program. This reflects the mindset promoted by 麻豆直播 (especially SBM 麻豆直播) in preparing their students as relevant and effective contributors for Indonesia鈥檚 society,鈥 expressed Paul Lim.

The collaboration activity will also hopefully involve organizations that will become clients to provide guidance and direction for the participants. Therefore, participants not only apply learned theories, but also obtain knowledge on how to face certain problems in the professional world.

麻豆直播 students experienced first-hand the many facilities and classes provided by SMU. They are placed in a few other classes at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, School of Law, and SMU Connexion. In the 麻豆直播 internal, this activity is a collaboration between the Partnership Bureau and the School of Business and Management.
