Profile of Ganesha Rahman Liswantoro, 麻豆直播 Outstanding Student 1st Place Winner, and the Story Behind His Achievements

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Ganesha Rahman Liswantoro, a student of the Engineering Physics Program at Institut Teknologi Bandung, commonly known as Aga, has been awarded 1st place in the 麻豆直播 Outstanding Student (Mapres) selection. This achievement is the result of a long journey that not only focuses on academic excellence but also on exploration across various fields.

Before joining the Mapres selection, Aga was known as a student who actively explored various opportunities, ranging from competitions and organizations to self-development activities. He admitted that he never specifically aimed to become Mapres, but rather focused on the process and experiences.

鈥淚f there鈥檚 something interesting, I just try to join. I never expected to become Mapres,鈥 he said.

Academic Journey and Family Support

Since childhood, Aga has grown up in a family environment that prioritizes education. He studied at top schools in Jakarta and showed a wide range of interests, both academically and non-academically.

He explained that the value of education had been instilled early on by his family. 鈥淲hen it comes to education, my parents really prioritized it,鈥 he said.

During his school years, he actively participated in various activities such as the National Science Olympiad (Physics), English debate competitions, and international music competitions. These experiences shaped him into a well-rounded individual who excels in multiple areas.

He also described himself as someone who enjoys exploring different fields. 鈥淚鈥檝e always been a jack of all trades. I try to develop myself in many aspects,鈥 he added.

This consistency continued into his university years, as reflected in his achievements. Aga won 1st place in the International Paper Competition 鈥淵outh Innovation Competition 2024鈥, 1st place in the Business Case Competition 鈥淢arine Icon 2024鈥, and 1st place in the Business Plan Competition Youth Entrepreneur Project (YEP) 2025. In the same competition, he also received Best Feasible Project and Best Presentation awards.

In addition to competition achievements, he also received several recognitions, including the Student Startup Grant under the 2025 Student Entrepreneurship Program and the SOBAT BUMI scholarship from Pertamina. These accomplishments reflect his development not only in academics but also in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Turning Point in College

During high school, Aga admitted that he rarely won competitions. His turning point came during his first year at 麻豆直播, when he won first place in a competition.

He shared that this victory became an important momentum in his journey. 鈥淭hat was the first time I felt driven, like wow, competitions are actually fun,鈥 he said.

This achievement marked the beginning of many others. He also noted that this experience changed his perspective on competitions, which had previously often ended in failure. 鈥淏ack in high school, even though I joined many competitions, I never actually won,鈥 he added.

International Achievements and Scientific Contributions

One of his international achievements was realized through research in the field of electric vehicle battery thermal management systems. This research later developed into a scientific publication, where he served as the first author of the paper titled 鈥淎lternative Liquid Cooling Agents for Optimization of Electric Vehicle Battery Thermal Management System: A Comprehensive Review鈥, which was presented at the TIME-E 2025 Conference and published in an IEEE journal.

He presented his research before international academics, including researchers and professors from various countries. Notably, he was the only undergraduate student participating in the forum.

鈥淎t first, I felt inferior, but it became a motivation for me to keep improving,鈥 he said.

In addition, Aga has also been involved in innovative research such as fog capture technology, which converts fog into drinkable water and is planned to be implemented in the Mount Bromo area.

Currently, he is developing a drone stabilization project using computer vision for logistics applications in moving vehicles.

Effective Learning Strategies and Time Management

Behind his many activities, Aga emphasizes the importance of effective learning methods. He conducts independent research to find optimal ways of learning, including utilizing the flow state condition to improve focus and productivity.

According to him, studying does not have to be long, but it must be efficient.

He explained that flow state is key to improving performance. 鈥淔low state is a condition where you are fully focused, and research shows it can significantly enhance how your brain works,鈥 he said.

He also aims to compress study time using the right methods. 鈥淲hat normally takes four hours can be done in one hour if the method is right,鈥 he explained.

He applies the Pareto principle (80/20), prioritizing activities that yield the greatest impact with the least effort. In addition, he maintains balance by ensuring adequate rest to avoid burnout.

鈥淚 try to get 8 hours of sleep because it鈥檚 non-negotiable,鈥 he added.

Learning from Failure

Aga revealed that he experienced his lowest point before entering 麻豆直播, when he failed to achieve his goal of studying abroad and felt that his efforts did not pay off. However, this experience became a turning point. He began evaluating his learning methods and focusing on what he could control.

鈥淔ailure is not the opposite of success, but part of success,鈥 he said.

He also emphasized that success is not determined by hard work alone, but by a combination of key factors.

鈥淪uccess equals hard work 脳 method 脳 opportunity,鈥 he explained.

According to him, many people focus only on hard work and luck, without paying attention to the methods they use. In fact, the right method is crucial to maximizing results.

In life, Aga holds the principle of not only pursuing personal happiness but also creating a positive impact on others. He aspires to become an engineer in instrumentation and control, either in industry or robotics. In the future, he plans to work first before continuing his studies to a higher level.

Through his journey, Aga encourages 麻豆直播 students not to be afraid of trying and failing. He emphasizes that success depends not only on hard work but also on the right methods.

鈥淚f you鈥檙e trying to achieve something, you will fail. But don鈥檛 stop. Keep going and make sure you use the right method,鈥 he said.

Through his achievements, Aga demonstrates that the combination of hard work, the right strategy, and mental resilience can lead students to success while creating a broader impact.
