MELBOURNE, itb.ac.id 鈥 Anggit Raksajati, Ph.D., a lecturer at Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播), was the only speaker from the emerging and developing economic countries at the CO2CRC CCS Symposium 2026 in Australia. In this event, he also represented the Center of Excellence for CCS and CCUS - 麻豆直播, highlighting Indonesia鈥檚 growing involvement in the development of carbon capture technologies and international collaboration in the CCS sector.

The CO2CRC CCS Symposium 2026 is one of the leading international forums in the field of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). This year鈥檚 symposium carried the theme 鈥淭he Role of CCS in Confronting Energy Realities,鈥 which highlights the important role of CCS technology in reducing carbon emissions while maintaining energy security and affordability as global energy demand continues to grow.
The three-day event was held from 23鈥25 February 2026 at RACV City Club, Melbourne, and was organized by CO2CRC (Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies). The symposium brought together international experts, government officials, industry leaders, investors, academics, and researchers in the fields of energy and environment.

During the symposium, Anggit Raksajati, Ph.D. shared insights on the development and potential implementation of CCS in Indonesia, including opportunities for regional collaboration in advancing carbon capture and storage technologies.
The event also featured a keynote address by The Hon. Madeleine King, Minister for Resources and Minister for Northern Australia, who presented the Australian Government鈥檚 perspective on the role of CCS in supporting the transition toward net-zero emissions, particularly for industrial sectors that are difficult to decarbonize.
Through discussions, presentations, and networking activities, the CO2CRC CCS Symposium 2026 aimed to strengthen global collaboration and accelerate the development and implementation of CCS technologies in support of global decarbonization efforts.
