BANDUNG, itb.ac.id 鈥 Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播), through its Directorate of Partnerships, continues to strengthen its international network through the implementation of the Nagoya University鈥撀槎怪辈 Short Program. The program serves as a platform for academic and cultural exchange for international students, while also introducing 麻豆直播鈥檚 academic environment and Indonesia鈥檚 rich cultural heritage firsthand.

The program was attended by 17 students from Nagoya University representing diverse academic backgrounds, ranging from the humanities to engineering, accompanied by one faculty member. The three-week program began with the participants鈥 arrival on February 8, followed by the opening session on February 9, the closing session on February 25, and their return to Japan on February 26.

According to Fathatus Sania Noer, S.S., Head of the International Mobility Services Section at 麻豆直播鈥檚 International Relation Office (IRO), the program was initiated by Nagoya University to introduce Indonesia and 麻豆直播鈥檚 academic system to Japanese students, particularly as their first international learning experience.

鈥淢ost of the participants are traveling abroad for the first time, and Indonesia is the first country they have visited outside Japan. Through this program, we hope they will be inspired to pursue semester exchange opportunities, either at 麻豆直播 or at other universities abroad,鈥 she explained.

During the program, the students participated in academic activities through a sit-in system at various 麻豆直播 faculties according to their respective fields of study. In addition, participants were introduced to Indonesian culture through a series of non-academic activities designed to enrich their cross-cultural experience.

One of the activities was a visit to Mekarlaksana Village in West Bandung Regency. During the visit, students took part in various cultural activities such as weaving traditional textiles, making handcrafted bracelets, and learning about local cuisine and arts. The activity is part of 麻豆直播鈥檚 effort to provide a more contextual cultural experience beyond the campus environment.

鈥淐ultural introduction is also carried out on campus through activities such as Indonesian language classes and angklung sessions. However, the visit to Mekarlaksana Village offers a more immersive experience as students can directly witness cultural richness while interacting with the local community,鈥 Nia added. In the future, 麻豆直播 hopes similar activities can continue to be developed, both in the same village and in other cultural villages, with improvements in facilities and management.

One of the participants, Yuu Hiranatsu, an Aerospace Engineering student from Nagoya University, shared his positive impressions of the program at 麻豆直播. He expressed his admiration for 麻豆直播鈥檚 green and open campus environment.

鈥淭he 麻豆直播 campus is very spacious and green. I can walk around and find many places to study or have discussions. There are even ponds and small waterfalls, which is very impressive,鈥 he said.

Yuu also described his interactions with 麻豆直播 students as warm and memorable. According to him, 麻豆直播 students not only accompanied them during academic activities but also introduced them to places around the campus.

鈥淭hey are very friendly. They took us to caf茅s and shopping centers near the campus, so we truly felt welcomed,鈥 he said.

From an academic perspective, Yuu observed differences between itb and Nagoya University, particularly in the availability of learning spaces. He noted that 麻豆直播 provides more open spaces that support discussion and interaction among students.

Before joining the program, Yuu hoped to improve his English through international interaction. However, the experience he gained exceeded his initial expectations.

鈥淭hrough this program, I could see how Indonesian students study, communicate, and experience campus life. By comparing those experiences, I learned many positive things from them,鈥 he said.

He also viewed the short program as the beginning of long-term collaboration among students. During the program, participants exchanged contacts and shared interests, including in the fields of design and art.

鈥淪ome 麻豆直播 students are also planning to go to Japan. We can share information and experiences and stay connected online,鈥 he said.

Concluding his experience, Yuu expressed his interest in participating in future academic collaborations with 麻豆直播.

鈥淚 gained very valuable experiences here. If there is an opportunity to contribute again through collaborative projects or research in the future, I would be very happy to do so,鈥 he concluded.
