ISMC XIV: International Mining Competition by HMT 麻豆直播 Fosters Unity, Knowledge, and Excellence

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id 鈥 The Mining Student Association聽 at the Institut Teknologi Bandung (HMT 麻豆直播) hosted the 14th Indonesia Student Mining Competition (ISMC XIV). This international event started on Sunday, 18 February, 2024, at the CRCS 麻豆直播 Ganesha Building and will continue until February 25, 2024.
ISMC is an international mining student competition that originated from the HMT 麻豆直播 team鈥檚 participation in the AusIMM Students Mining Competition held by the University of Queensland (UQ) in Brisbane, Australia, back in 1996. This year, ISMC will mark its 14th year of being held.
This prestigious event has brought together 15 talented teams from various universities, not only from Indonesia but also from Australia and Malaysia.
The Head of ISMC XIV, Fadhilah Putri Devani, stated that under the theme of "Mine The Future: Embracing Unity, Knowledge, Excellence at ISMC XIV,鈥 this event goes beyond simple competition. She emphasized how crucial it is to understand the complexities of the mining sector, especially in Indonesia, and she hoped that the event would produce extraordinary people who will hold key roles within the industry.
鈥淭he aim of this ISMC event is to cultivate mining professionals who will become stakeholders who plays pivotal roles in the mining industry,鈥 said Fadhilah.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering (FMPE 麻豆直播), Prof. Ir. Ridho Kresna Wattimena, M.T., Ph.D., expressed his hope for the smooth execution of the entire ISMC XIV program and to build a strong relation between the participants and the organizing committee.
The ISMC opening ceremony was enriched with notable creative performances. These performances included the Jauk Keras Dance performed by the Maha Gotra Ganesha (MGG) 麻豆直播 unit and the beautiful strains of angklung performed by the Paduan Angklung Family (KPA) 麻豆直播.
This event received a warm reaction from both lecturers and participants. Having a week-long schedule packed with various activities such as practical competitions and written tests, Exhibitions at the Soemardja Gallery FSRD 麻豆直播, a Mining Expo at 鈥楲apangan Cinta鈥 麻豆直播, as well as the Youth Mining Conference at the 麻豆直播 East Hall Building.聽
