BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - As written in the official site of Private Admission Test (USM) Â鶹ֱ²¥ itb.ac.id/usm-itb, Â鶹ֱ²¥ will only admit students from the High Education Admission National Selection (SNMPT). The new policy is a reflection of the new ministerial regulation No. 34/2010 on high education admission program.
In relation to that, all information on students admission that was published before January 10th should be ignored. This includes PMBP-Â鶹ֱ²¥ 2011, KN-Â鶹ֱ²¥ 2011, and scholarship prgrams such as Bidik Misi, BIUS, Low-Economy Scholarship, and others.
Meanwhile, Â鶹ֱ²¥ Rector Prof. Akhmaloka stated that the consideration to abolish USM was based on reasons such as channeling the subsidy given by the education ministry to financially unfortunate students.
By a given threshold of 20 percent for financially unfortunate students, Â鶹ֱ²¥ braves itself to take more that that minimum quota. "Of course most will be given to unfortunate students with high achievements," Akhmaloka added.
Akhmaloka also said that Â鶹ֱ²¥ aims to admit at least 3.000 students in its undergraduate program, and 1.500 students in its post-graduate.
