SAPPK 麻豆直播 Students of the Class of 2025 Hold Environmental Education and Mural Program with Students of SMA Negeri Jatinangor

JATINANGOR, itb.ac.id 鈥 Students of the School of Architecture, Planning, and Policy Development (SAPPK), Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播), Class of 2025, organized a community engagement program titled ARUPA (Aksi Ruang Publik Edukatif Angkatan) at SMA Negeri Jatinangor. The program was conducted as a form of student initiative and concern for promoting healthy, inclusive, and sustainable public spaces, particularly for younger generations.

The ARUPA program was initiated following interviews conducted by SAPPK 2025 students with high school students in the Jatinangor area, which revealed limited access to adequate public spaces as well as a lack of education regarding the importance of maintaining and caring for public spaces. Based on these findings, the students designed an educational and participatory program aimed at creating a positive impact on high school students as active users of public spaces.

The primary target of this activity was students of SMA Negeri Jatinangor. Adolescents were selected as the main beneficiaries due to their active use of public spaces and their strategic role in shaping the quality of the environment in the future.

The implementation of the program was coordinated by the ARUPA Organizing Committee, which was responsible for managing technical arrangements, coordinating across divisions, and ensuring that all activities were carried out in accordance with the program鈥檚 objectives. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the school, including initial communication, technical coordination, and on-site assistance during program implementation.

The main activities of ARUPA consisted of educational teaching sessions and mural creation. The teaching activities focused on increasing students鈥 awareness and understanding of environmental cleanliness and responsible use of public spaces. Meanwhile, the murals created within the school environment served not only as aesthetic enhancements but also as visual educational media conveying positive and sustainable environmental messages.

This program had a direct impact on students of SMA Negeri Jatinangor by increasing their knowledge, awareness, and sense of responsibility toward the environment and public spaces. For SAPPK 2025 students, ARUPA provided valuable experience in teamwork, cross-division coordination, and adaptability in the field, while also strengthening solidarity and the academic identity of the cohort.

SAPPK 麻豆直播 Class of 2025 students hope that this activity will serve as an initial step in fostering positive environmental behavior among students and open opportunities for sustainable follow-up programs in the future. 鈥淲e hope that the objectives of this activity can be fully achieved and provide positive impacts for students and the surrounding environment. Furthermore, we expect this program to strengthen solidarity and a culture of collaboration among SAPPK students, and to help our cohort further develop in the spirit of collaboration and social awareness. Through the teaching and mural activities, we also hope to introduce SAPPK students to their future academic interests,鈥 said Dwike Reza Fahrezi, member of the ARUPA organizing committee.
