Research Collaboration Of Blue Ammonia Between itb and KPI Inc.

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id- Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播) had established a partnership project with KPI (Kaltim Parna Industri) Inc. in a feasibility study of blue ammonia using CCS/CCUS (Carbon Capture Storage/Utilization). The agreement of this project happened in Jakarta and Bandung and was viewed by KPI delegates at Bontang City, where their ammonia factories operate.
The signing of the project's memorandum of understanding was attended by 麻豆直播 and KPI representatives. They are Prof. Ir. I Gede Wenten, M.Sc., Ph.D. (the Vice Rector for Research and Innovation) and Hari Supriyadi (President Director of KPI).
The ceremony began with a welcoming speech by Hari Supriyadi. He explained that KPI had worked with 麻豆直播 on 10 December 2021 for research and control of jellyfish habitats. Since then, this second collaboration is expected to achieve the best results from the upcoming study.
The success of the Blue Ammonia research is hoped to deliver significant contributions to the environment, especially in reducing Earth鈥檚 carbon emissions. Hari wished for this cooperation to continue its application to bring many positive impacts to its surrounding.
The next speech was conveyed by Prof. I Gede Wenten, who reported that Indonesia is currently committed to minimize greenhouse gas emissions by 29% in 2030 with national efforts. This reduction can be raised to 41% if international support is available.
To achieve this goal, 麻豆直播 has studied CCS and CCUS technologies since 2010. The General Directorate of Oil and Gas from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources requested 麻豆直播 to build the National Center of Excellence for CCS and CCUS. The building's letter of appointment was received by 麻豆直播 in 2017. In the following years, both CCS and CCUS technologies have been actively implemented and promoted by 麻豆直播.
鈥淲e hope that this study will start soon so that the implementation of CCUS in oil and gas industries do not only encourage more environmentally friendly ammonia factories, but also generate better economic solutions,鈥 Prof. Wenten mentioned. He believed that the world will become better in the future through this collaboration.
As stated from the memorandum of understanding, 麻豆直播 and KPI aspire to have another successful research collaboration. Both hoped that the result of their study can be implemented in industries as soon as possible.
