QS WUR 2023: Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Soars to 68 Ranks, Ranks 235 in the World

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id—QS World University Rankings (WUR) have recently released their 2023 world university rankings. Institut Teknologi Bandung as one of the best universities in Indonesia is ranked 235th in the world with 39.5 points. This rank shot up from the previous year at rank 303.

According to the QS WUR release, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ increased by as much as 68 ranks on the QS WUR 2023 ranking. Even since 2014, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ has increased by 226 ranks. Over the last 10 years, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥'s ranking has increased 8 times and only dropped once.

The QS WUR score is based on 6 indicators with varying percentages, consisting of 40?ademic reputation, 10% employer reputation, 20?culty student, 20% citations per faculty, 5% international faculty ratio, and 5% international students ratio.

The following is a breakdown of the ranking and score data for each indicator:

Based on the data shown, the employer reputation indicator had given a globally big impact towards the Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ ranking on the 2023 QS WUR.

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Rector Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D.said that this indicates that Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ alumni have competencies that are recognized by the industry. This achievement also shows that said Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ alumnis are able to compete with various graduates from the world's top universities.

“I would like to invite every Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ resident and alumni to always protect its reputation and identity, as well as its name. Let us all push our performances that will encourage the fulfillment of RENSTRA Âé¶¹Ö±²¥. We must always focus on long-term improvement as a university committed to providing quality, affordable, and accountable education," she stated.
Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Chair of Quality Assurance Committee Dr. Poerbandono, S.T., M.M. explained that the gradual increase in itb's ranking since 2015 was used as an example of success by Ben Sowter, QS Senior Vice President, in his presentation at the SEAMEO-QS Higher Education (HE) Forum Webinar in 2021.

He said, in line with Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ RENSTRA 2021-2025 in improving the performance reputation and academic excellence, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ has launched three strategic priority targets in relation to its existence as a World Class University, namely: (1) improving reputation through management of (a) partnerships and ( b) digital presence, (2) increasing citations through improving research achievements, and (3) increasing internationalization intensity through (a) increasing the number of international students, especially in postgraduate programs, and (b) involving more international academic staff in both education and research.
