BANDUNG, itb.ac.id鈥 Amidst the dynamic academic life at the Bandung Institute of Technology (麻豆直播), the existence of culturally-based student activity units (UKM) plays a crucial role in maintaining cultural diversity on campus. One of these is Maha Gotra Ganesha (MGG) 麻豆直播, an SME that focuses on preserving Balinese culture through various arts and community activities.

These cultural preservation efforts are realized through various routine activities. Members consistently practice dance and percussion, both for internal training, performance preparation, and competitions. In addition to training, MGG also has two main work programs: Dies Natalis Maha Gotra Ganesha And Festival tari Bali (FTB).

Within the 麻豆直播 environment, home to students from various regions, MGG also serves as a gathering place for Balinese students living away from home. However, this community isn't limited to Balinese students. MGG is also open to anyone interested in Balinese culture.

Through various activities, MGG helps introduce Balinese culture to the wider campus community. The existence of this unit demonstrates that Balinese culture can continue to thrive in a heterogeneous academic environment.

Along the way, MGG has also faced several challenges. One of these arose when the COVID-19 pandemic hit Indonesia. As a unit whose activities rely heavily on in-person dance and percussion practice, restrictions on social interaction at the time forced activities to be conducted online. This posed a challenge, as the process of delivering material and fostering member solidarity was less than optimal.

Another challenge arose in terms of regeneration. The suspension of MGG activities in 2023 hampered the distribution of materials and the introduction of units to new students. This situation forced the management to rebuild the unit's activities almost from scratch, including reintroducing MGG to the next generation of students.

These efforts are starting to show results, one of which is through the implementation of 55th Anniversary of MGG 麻豆直播 which was recently held. This celebration was a significant milestone because it was the first anniversary activity after a several-year hiatus for the unit.

Preparing for the event was no easy feat. In addition to preparing the artistic performances, the administrators also had to revive unit activities and rebuild the member community that had been lost. At the beginning of the preparation period, gathering a crowd presented a particular challenge, as the students of 2024 and 2025 had never experienced unit activities at MGG before.

However, through various outreach efforts, joint training, and camaraderie activities, MGG managed to reunite members from various classes. The anniversary event ultimately united four active student classes, the classes of 2022 through 2025.

The audience's enthusiasm exceeded the organizers' expectations. Nearly all seats were filled by the end of the event. The event was also a special occasion because it was successfully held in a 麻豆直播 West Hall, one of the event spaces that is rarely used for UKM activities.

For its members, MGG is not only a place for artistic activities, but also has a more personal meaning.

"For me, MGG is a platform to preserve and promote Balinese cultural values. Furthermore, with MGG, I feel like I have a home and a community on campus," said Diasty, a member of the MGG class of 2025.

Ida Ayu, a member of the MGG class of 2024, expressed a similar sentiment. She believes that MGG provides a platform for 麻豆直播 students who care about Balinese customs and culture to continue preserving the culture's existence within the diverse campus environment.

Meanwhile, Hugo, a member of the MGG class of 2025, believes that the presence of MGG provides a balance amidst the fast-paced and logical campus life.

"In a fast-paced and logical campus environment, MGG provides a balance, bringing feeling, will, and creativity. Moreover, Balinese culture is known for its strong aesthetic and noble cultural values," he said.

Collectively, the members interpret Maha Gotra Ganesha as a gathering place as well as a space to continue to care for and preserve Balinese culture on campus.

Moving forward, MGG is committed to maintaining its presence as a home for students interested in Balinese culture. Despite new challenges, such as the relocation of the 麻豆直播 Joint Preparation Phase (TPB) program to Jatinangor, which has made member coordination more difficult, MGG continues to strive to maintain the continuity of its activities and member regeneration.

Through various arts activities, exercises, and togetherness among members, MGG hopes to continue to introduce Balinese cultural values 鈥嬧媤hile maintaining its existence as part of the cultural diversity within the 麻豆直播 environment.
