BANDUNG, itb.ac.id 鈥 A team of students from Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播) has earned a prestigious placement in the International Petrowell 2025 (IPW 2025). This event, organized by the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA) Pertamina University Student Chapter, serves as a key platform for students in the fields of petrophysics and well logging to sharpen their data analysis skills in the oil and gas sector.

Carrying the theme "Unlocking Earth's Potential through Integrated Exploration and Innovation for Future Energy Sustainability," the competition challenged participants to interpret well logging data in order to identify zones with economically viable hydrocarbon potential.

The Phoenix Team, composed of three Petroleum Engineering students鈥擭aiya Fitri Adelya, Siti Dhea Islamiyati, and Ummi Sholehah鈥攃rafted a strategy based on comprehensive evaluations of shale volume, porosity, water saturation, and the best well design tailored to the specific characteristics of the reservoir and the fluids it holds.

The Phoenix Team鈥檚 outstanding performance was marked by highly accurate data interpretation and innovative solutions for optimizing hydrocarbon exploration. Their efforts secured them the 2nd Runner-Up position in the Petrowell Study Case Competition, held on Sunday (March 16, 2025).

For these final-year students, participating in IPW 2025 was not just about adding another achievement to their records鈥攊t was a chance to apply the knowledge they had gained throughout their studies. Additionally, the competition鈥檚 theme resonated strongly with the current challenges faced by the oil and gas industry as it works to meet national energy targets through innovative and sustainable exploration.

This accomplishment marks not the end, but the beginning of their journey to grow and contribute in future international competitions. 鈥淎s final-year students, we wanted to prove that there are no limits to what we can achieve. It鈥檚 never too late to start, and time never sets boundaries for those who keep reaching for the stars,鈥 shared Dhea.
