BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - A total of 250 alumni from the 1970 cohort of the Institut Teknologi Bandung (Â鶹ֱ²¥) gathered at the Aula Timur, Â鶹ֱ²¥ Ganesa Campus, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, to commemorate the 55th Anniversary Reunion of Â鶹ֱ²¥’70, themed "Returning to Alma Mater." This event served as both a reunion and a moment of reflection on their long journey from academic years to tangible contributions across various fields. Moreover, the meeting symbolized the alumni's commitment to supporting Â鶹ֱ²¥'s development and benefiting the broader community through donations and social activities.
In his opening remarks, Rektor of Â鶹ֱ²¥, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., expressed his joy at the return of the 1970 alumni. Additionally, they contributed IDR 500 million to the development of the Alumni Creation Room, an initiative aimed at providing a platform for collaboration, discussions, and the development of innovative ideas across generations of alumni.
In addition to supporting their alma mater, Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™70 alumni also donated IDR 250 million to the Indonesian Children's Cancer Foundation, raised through a Virtual Run event, demonstrating their concern for children's health issues.
Ir. Yani Panigoro, M.M., a representative of Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™70 alumni, in his speech, expressed pride in the tangible contributions made by the alumni, not only in terms of financial support but also through their efforts and ideas.
"One of Â鶹ֱ²¥'70's key contributions was the involvement of several alumni in improving Â鶹ֱ²¥'s financial administration reports several years ago, which led to the transparent auditing of the reporting system. This achievement has become a critical foundation, allowing Â鶹ֱ²¥ to gain the trust of many donors and investors," he said.
He also expressed hope that Â鶹ֱ²¥ would continue to grow and improve, with the spirit of collaboration and support between alumni and the university continuing to thrive, so that Â鶹ֱ²¥ can make greater strides in education, research, and social contributions. As an alumnus, he reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the progress of their beloved alma mater for a brighter future.
