Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ to Provide Scholarship, Subsidized Tuition for New Students

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - In accord to Âé¶¹Ö±²¥'s new policy on new students admittance, which was the abolishment of private test (USM), Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Educational Directorate held a socialization concerning the national admission test (SNMPTN 2011) last Friday (01/28/11), in Campus East Hall. In the event, hundreds of high and vocational schools representatives were invited.
SNMPTN 2011 will be held in two different selection method; invitational and written. The invitational program is open exclusively for the best 25% students in A and B accredited schools, while the written one is open for everyone.
Subsidized Tuition
Starting this year, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ will introduce an adaptive tuition fee proportionate to the students' wealth. Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ is to provide 25%, 50%, and 75% subsidy to chosen students. Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ will even provide 100% free tuition for 20% new students.
Initial payment for new students will be Rp. 55.000.000 for all major except Business School, while the Business School new students will have to pay Rp. 80.000.000. Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ stressed that whether or not an applicant gets admitted does not depend on the amount of money the applicant pays.
Scholarships
According to Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Carmadi Machbub, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ will provide scholarship programs which will be integrated to the SNMPTN invitational. This include Science Olympics Scholarship, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ for All Scholarship, BIDIK Misi, Tuition Scholarship, and Weak Economy Scholarship.
It is hoped that with all these scholarships and subsidies, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ would be able to provide an undwindling quality in high education for everyone, not just the rich.
