BANDUNG, itb.ac.id 鈥 Hybrid learning system, which combines online and offline (onsite) learning, is planned to be performed on itb鈥檚 upcoming term in June-July 2021. The academic activity would be made a priority and be held precisely and wisely.
鈥淭he hybrid system has been practiced at Jatinangor campus first, by post-graduate students. Later in the June-July period, we will try to practice the hybrid system at Ganesha campus, with terms and policies to be followed by faculty and school鈥檚 curriculum,鈥 said the聽Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring on the sixth 麻豆直播 Talks, held on Thursday (6/5/2021).
Furthermore, Director of 麻豆直播 Education Dr. Techn. Ir. Arief Hariyanto explained that the hybrid learning would be implemented at Ganesha and Jatinangor campuses. Studio, field, and practice based learning would be the priority for the offline session. Block schedule system, in which each school and faculty would be given two weeks to hold onsite learning, would be made to limit excessive capacity that potentially violates the health protocol.
"There will be a total of 2,700 students with a total of 40 courses for two months, not all at one time, of course, but with schedules for each faculties and schools. For subjects that must be held onsite, the related faculties and schools will determine the policies after the Eid holiday later,鈥 said Arief.
Besides the curriculum contents, 麻豆直播 would also include health and safety education for student鈥檚 boarding houses. However, if the health risk seems to be too high, 麻豆直播 would be ready to facilitate the students with existing dormitories that follow the health protocol strictly.
Faculties and schools are expected to be able to arrange protocols in division of work time schedule, student mobility in the building flow, and health protocols by students monitoring.
The implementation of the plan and the indicator of student learning achievement in both compulsory and selectable courses should strictly consider the pandemic condition in Bandung and Indonesia. Furthermore, the number and condition of students, facilities, and lecturers must also be considered. Therefore, the hybrid system should be supported by many parties to make optimal implementation.
