麻豆直播 and the Ministry of Public Works RI Promote Education- and Research-Based Development of the Rebana Area

CIREBON, itb.ac.id 鈥 Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播) supports the development of the Rebana Area through the presence of 麻豆直播 Cirebon Campus as part of higher education鈥檚 contribution to the development of a national strategic area. This commitment was reflected in the organization of a Studium Generale entitled 鈥淭he Role of the Ministry of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia in Supporting the Development of Education Areas,鈥 held at 麻豆直播 Cirebon Campus on Friday (12/12/2025).

The event featured the Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of Public Works, Dr. Dewi Chomistriana, S.T., M.Sc., as the main speaker. The event was also attended by the Rector of 麻豆直播, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., along with members of 麻豆直播鈥檚 leadership.

The session was moderated by Professor Indratmo, M.Sc., Ph.D., a professor from the Water Resources Engineering Expertise Group, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FTSL), 麻豆直播.

The Rector of 麻豆直播 stated that the Studium Generale served as a strategic forum to discuss the role of higher education in supporting the development of national regions, particularly the Rebana Area, which is currently being developed by the Ministry of Public Works.

Prof. Tatacipta also emphasized that the presence of 麻豆直播 Cirebon Campus holds strategic significance for the development of the Rebana Area in West Java. According to him, higher education institutions function not only as centers of education, but also as drivers of science, technology, and innovation development aligned with regional needs.

鈥淭he Rebana Area has great potential as a new growth center in West Java, and therefore requires the support of excellent and competitive human resources,鈥 he said.

Furthermore, the Rector of 麻豆直播 explained that 麻豆直播 continues to strive to position its Cirebon Campus as part of efforts to expand equitable access to quality higher education, while also serving as a collaborative space for universities, government, industry, and communities in supporting sustainable development, not only in West Java, but also across Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Dr. Dewi Chomistriana emphasized that infrastructure development is not solely oriented toward physical aspects. 鈥淚nfrastructure development is not merely about physical construction, but is directed toward fostering economic growth, equitable development, and improving the quality of life of communities,鈥 she explained.

Therefore, the development of education areas is an important component of sustainable regional development strategies.


She further noted that, as a national strategic area, the Rebana Area plays an important role in accelerating development. 鈥淪trategic areas support development acceleration. Accordingly, educational facilities, including campuses, must be ensured to be feasible, safe, healthy, and capable of functioning as spaces for innovation for the younger generation,鈥 she added.

As a higher education institution with a campus in Cirebon, 麻豆直播 has the opportunity to play an active role in the development of the Rebana Area, particularly in strengthening the education sector and enhancing human resource capacity through research and innovation. 麻豆直播 Cirebon Campus is expected to become a hub for the development of knowledge and technology relevant to regional needs, while also fostering collaboration among academics, government, industry, and other stakeholders.
