Grant Ceremony & Seminar on Research Findings 2025: 麻豆直播 and Asahi Glass Foundation Strengthen Research Collaboration

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id 鈥 The Bandung Institute of Technology (麻豆直播), through its Directorate of Research and Innovation, once again strengthened its collaboration with The Asahi Glass Foundation in the Grant Ceremony & Seminar on Research Findings 2025. The event was held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the East Campus Center Auditorium, 麻豆直播 Ganesha Campus. It marked an important momentum that reaffirms Asahi Glass Foundation鈥檚 long-standing support for research development at 麻豆直播 for more than three decades.

In his opening remarks, Director of Research and Innovation itb, Prof. Dr. Elfahmi, S.Si., M.Si., emphasized that research funding from the Asahi Glass Foundation is one of the most prestigious research schemes at 麻豆直播. This year, a total of 89 research proposals were submitted, but only 14 successfully received funding.
鈥淚 believe these 14 grant recipients represent excellent research quality. The funding from Asahi has significantly enhanced 麻豆直播鈥檚 research achievements, particularly in publications, and is expected to generate impactful outcomes that will benefit society,鈥 he stated.

Meanwhile, Senior Executive Director of the Asahi Glass Foundation, Dr. Naoki Sugimoto, expressed his appreciation for the continuous progress of research at 麻豆直播. Since 1988, the foundation has supported more than 380 research topics in Indonesia. He noted that this program aligns with the mission of the Indonesian government in strengthening science, technology, and economic competitiveness.
鈥淟ooking at today鈥檚 seminar agenda, I was impressed by the diversity of topics ranging from material science, chemical engineering, biomaterials, to disaster mitigation. This demonstrates how deeply science is connected to life and society. We hope these research outcomes will bring benefits not only to Indonesia but also to the world, particularly in advancing technology, strengthening the economy, and protecting the environment,鈥 said Dr. Sugimoto.
The event continued with a seminar presenting research findings from the 14 grant recipients, who came from various schools and faculties across 麻豆直播. Each researcher shared their latest results in strategic fields and also showcased their work through a poster exhibition.

With the successful implementation of this event, the collaboration between itb and the Asahi Glass Foundation is expected to continue making significant contributions in driving innovation, strengthening scientific foundations, and producing impactful research that supports sustainable development.
