BANDUNG, itb.ac.id 鈥 The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FTSL) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播) invited global practitioners to deliver a guest lecture titled 鈥淏IM Cost Estimation in Construction鈥 on Wednesday (October 8, 2025), held in a hybrid format at the ALSI Hall, FTSL 麻豆直播.
This activity is part of the SI4152 Construction Cost Estimation course, aimed at introducing students to the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in developing an efficient and integrated project cost estimation system.
The event featured two speakers from Zotov International: Anastasia Elfimova (Director of Consulting Practice) and Igor Saenko (Technical Director of Zotov International), and was moderated by Anggi Renaldy Pratama, Country Manager of Zotov Indonesia and alumnus of 麻豆直播鈥檚 Civil Engineering program, class of 2015.
During their presentation, the speakers discussed how Building Information Modeling (BIM) plays a key role in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accuracy in project cost estimation. Anastasia highlighted that the implementation of 5D BIM enables the integration of design, scheduling, and cost data into a single digital model. 鈥淲ith this approach, every design modification is automatically reflected in the cost estimation, allowing the process to be more precise and easily auditable,鈥 she explained.
Following the discussion on the 5D BIM concept, Igor Saenko demonstrated the use of LARIX, a project management software developed by Zotov International based on BIM principles. Through the live demonstration, students were shown how the system connects three-dimensional design models directly to automated cost calculations.
鈥淟ARIX transforms a BIM model into a comprehensive economic analysis tool. This technology is particularly relevant for Indonesia, which is currently undergoing rapid infrastructure development on a national scale,鈥 Igor stated.
He further emphasized that adopting digital tools such as LARIX could significantly accelerate the digitalization of construction processes across public and private sector projects in Indonesia.

Anggi Renaldy Pratama, Country Manager of Zotov Indonesia, delivering his remarks during the Guest Lecture on Wednesday (October 8, 2025)
In an interview session, Anggi Renaldy Pratama highlighted the importance of improving BIM literacy among students to ensure 麻豆直播 Civil Engineering graduates can compete globally. He explained that BIM technology is no longer optional but an essential requirement in modern construction.
鈥淭oday, most large-scale projects, both national and international are already BIM-based. Students must learn to think digitally and work collaboratively from early on to add value in the professional world,鈥 he said. Anggi also encouraged students to stay up to date with the latest software tools and methodologies currently shaping the global construction industry.

Dr. Eng. Ima Fatima, S.T., M.T., the lecturer of the course, delivering remarks during the Guest Lecture with Zotov LLP on Wednesday (October 8, 2025)
The lecturer for the course, Dr. Eng. Ima Fatima, S.T., M.T., expressed her appreciation for the event, emphasizing that 麻豆直播 has long been a pioneer in BIM education and research in Indonesia. 鈥淲e have integrated BIM-related topics into our curriculum and student research over the past few years. Many studies conducted within the Construction and Infrastructure Management Research Group utilize BIM for developing cost estimation models, project management systems, and data-driven design optimization,鈥 she explained.
Dr. Ima further stated that collaboration with Zotov International provides valuable exposure for students to professional practices at the global level. 鈥淲e want our students not only to understand BIM theoretically but also to see how it is applied in real-world, fast-paced industries like Indonesia鈥檚 construction sector. This will help shape graduates who are adaptive, forward-thinking, and capable of driving digital transformation in construction,鈥 she added.
This collaboration will continue with another guest lecture organized by the Water Resources Management Study Program (TPSDA) of FTSL 麻豆直播 on October 15, 2025, which will discuss the application of BIM in water infrastructure design and hydraulic project management, further broadening students鈥 perspectives on the integration of BIM across diverse and sustainable fields.
The visit from Zotov International underscored the strong collaboration between academia and the global construction industry in supporting the acceleration of digital transformation in Indonesia. Through this event, 麻豆直播 students gained a deeper understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a foundational framework for achieving efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in the nation鈥檚 rapidly growing construction sector.
