Tedi Septiadi and Dilpa Nur Saputra wins second place in the 2024 Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Based Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Campaign Video Creation Competition on January 15, 2025.

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id 鈥 Dilpa Nur Saputra from Institut Teknologi Bandung (麻豆直播) and Tedi Septiadi from Universitas Indonesia (UI) secured second place in the 2024 Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Based Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) Campaign Video Creation Competition on January 15, 2025.

Organized by PERGIZI PANGAN Indonesia, in collaboration with the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) at Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Yayasan Makanan dan Minuman Indonesia (YAMMI), and Linisehat, the competition鈥檚 theme, 鈥淢y Nutrition and Your Nutrition in Our Food and Drink for the Nation鈥檚 Future,鈥 challenged participants to create AI-driven video campaigns. These campaigns aimed to educate the public on the importance of accessible, nutritious food to improve the health of future generations.

In their video, 鈥淗ealthy Menu, Bright Future,鈥 Dilpa and Tedi emphasized that every child deserves nutritious food. 鈥淲e aimed to highlight that access to healthy food is not a privilege but a fundamental need,鈥 Dilpa said. 鈥淥ur video underscores the critical roles of government, community, and technology in ensuring better food security.鈥

The team鈥檚 creative process blended AI tools with their own manual touch. Initially, they used ChatGPT to draft a script, Anthiago to extract data from reference videos, Editpad to summarize important points, and Pictory to analyze key scenes. In the manual phase, they developed storyboards, designed visuals in Canva, and edited the video using CapCut. 鈥淎I accelerates research and content creation, but storytelling and design still require a human touch,鈥 Dilpa explained.

A snapshot of Dilpa and Tedi鈥檚 award-winning work in the 2024 MBG AI-Based Campaign Video Creation Competition.

The duo completed the video in approximately one week with a clear division of tasks. Dilpa handled scripting, graphic design, and final editing, while Tedi focused on animation and visual refinement. The process included three stages: pre-production (2鈥3 days for research, scriptwriting, and reference gathering), production (2 days for creating graphics and illustrations in Canva), and post-production (2鈥3 days for video editing and effects adjustments in CapCut).

Their achievement offered valuable insights. The team noted that AI serves as a tool to streamline creative processes, not replace human effort. They also emphasized the importance of precise AI prompts for optimal results. Through their work, Dilpa and Tedi hope to inspire greater involvement in improving food security and nutrition in Indonesia.
