The Chair of 麻豆直播鈥檚 Board of Trustees, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, emphasized the importance of adaptive and accountable governance in responding to global challenges. According to him, 麻豆直播 plays a strategic role in strengthening the national innovation ecosystem through synergy among universities, government, and industry, ensuring that research outcomes are aligned with industrial needs and public policy.

鈥淪ynergy among academia, government, and industry is key to accelerating competitive research downstreaming,鈥� he stated.

The Chair of 麻豆直播鈥檚 Academic Senate, Prof. Edy Tri Baskoro, affirmed that institutional transformation must remain grounded in academic excellence. Academic freedom, scientific integrity, and high quality standards serve as the foundation for safeguarding 麻豆直播鈥檚 dignity while ensuring meaningful scholarly contributions to national development.

Meanwhile, 麻豆直播 Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., in his address, underscored 麻豆直播鈥檚 strategic direction toward achieving the Top 150 World University ranking by 2030. He noted that this target relies on the quality of its academic community and the strengthening of the tridharma (education, research, and community service) in alignment with the 鈥淚mpactful 麻豆直播鈥� vision.

鈥淭hrough interdisciplinary collaboration, strengthened governance, and expanded international networks, 麻豆直播 is committed to delivering solutions to national challenges in industry, energy, and health,鈥� said Prof. Tata.

Scientific Oration: Natural Product Downstreaming for Health Self-Reliance

The event also featured a Scientific Oration by 麻豆直播鈥檚 Director of Research and Innovation and Professor of Pharmaceutical Biology at the School of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. apt. Elfahmi, S.Si., M.Si. He delivered a lecture titled 鈥淒ownstreaming and Commercialization of Indonesian Natural Product Research and Innovation for Health Self-Reliance.鈥�

In his oration, Prof. Elfahmi highlighted Indonesia鈥檚 vast biodiversity potential as a source of raw materials for medicines and natural-based health products. 鈥淗owever, this potential must be optimized through a structured downstreaming process, starting from basic research, safety and efficacy testing, to the development of market-ready products,鈥� he explained.

He stressed that research should not stop at publications or patents. Research outcomes must be translated into products that can be produced, utilized, and directly benefit society.

鈥淭o achieve this, close collaboration among universities, industry, government, and regulators is essential,鈥� he stated.

According to him, health self-reliance is an integral part of national sovereignty. By strengthening research and production based on domestic natural resources, Indonesia has a significant opportunity to reduce import dependency while positioning itself as a major player in the natural product鈥揵ased health industry.
