2017 Community Service Exhibition by 麻豆直播 Students: Growing Empathy toward Society

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id 鈥 Community Service is one of Higher Education鈥檚 Tridarma points which should be implemented on daily basis. In order to achieve the dream of founding fathers contained in the Preamble of Indonesian Constitution 1945, 鈥淎chieving social justice for all the people of Indonesia鈥, Student Affairs of 麻豆直播 (LK) presented 2017 Community Service Exhibition of 麻豆直播 Students on Friday (03/11/17) at 3rd floor of Center for Research and Community Service (CRCS) Building at 07.00-17.00.
Flourishing community-based activities in itb is a positive sign of growing interest of 麻豆直播 Students toward community. Muhammad Adnin (Geodesy and Geomathics 2014), the Head Coordinator of Community Service Competition itb, explained that there are nineteen booths of different organizations that displayed their community service work, such as Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN), Kolaborasa, Ekspedisi Nusantara Jaya (ENJ), Skhole, Geurah, Gebrak, INDESS, Dewari UP, Mahasiswa Rantau, Keluarga Mahasiswa Kelautan (KMKL), Nymphaea, Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Lingkungan (HMTL), Pelita Muda, Himpunan Mahasiswa Rekayasa Kehutanan (HMRH), Himpunan Mahasiswa Planologi (HMP), Ilubiung, Aku Masuk 麻豆直播 (AMI), and Amisca. Having different focus and method, each organization have their own advantage.
The exhibition was open not only to 麻豆直播 academics but also to general public. More than 1000 visitors attended the exhibition and it shows the public enthusiasm toward the event. The rector ot 麻豆直播, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA was also seen attending KKN鈥檚 booth to look at their works.
Each booth displayed different works. For example, KKN were displaying executed project mock-ups from four different themes, water, education, infrastructure, and eco-agro. On the same occasion, Ekspedisi Pelita Muda displayed handcrafts and traditional tools. At their booth, Aku Masuk 麻豆直播 (AMI) displayed documentation from Special Dissemination team to disadvantaged, outermost, and remote regions.
Other booths displayed similar works, from documentation of projects, mock-ups, ethnic tools, up to handcrafts made from corn skin by community which was displayed at HMTL鈥檚 booth.
鈥淲e hope that fellow countrymen will remain concerned with the society. This event should be better next time and grow the empathy of visitors to be sensitive toward society. Keep Fighting, Indoesia!鈥 said the final year student.
